Everyone learns how to be a good friend, neighbor, and driver when they go through Driver’s Ed (we hope!), but some on-the-road etiquette doesn’t always get included in classroom discussions, especially etiquette related to electric or hybrid-electric vehicles, like Ford’s own Ford Focus Electric or Ford Fusion Energi. Today, we wanted to share some EV Etiquette and Tips from the folks at Ford, and if you’re thinking about going green yourself, come see us at Central Ford to see what the Ford lineup has to offer.

Some quick tips, etiquette, and pointers for Electric Vehicle driving from the Ford Motor Company:

  • Driving slowly can help increase your vehicle’s range!
  • Using air conditioning or the heat also drains your battery, reducing your overall range!
  • If you get to a charging station and someone’s EV was there first, be a good neighbor and leave it to charge; don’t unplug someone who was there first.
  • Using an EV App can alert you to when your car is finished charging, making for a more efficient day, not just a more efficient drive!

Any Arkansas drivers who are looking to make their morning commute a little more eco-friendly, we invite you to join us at your local Ford dealership, found on 325 Highway 463 North, Trumann, AR. If you have any burning questions about Ford’s electric and hybrid-electric offerings, we’ll happily answer them for you, and if you find that “green” driving is the way for you, we can help you place an order for the eco-friendly Ford vehicle that suits you best!
